Coaching

for Engineers

Build Your Team. Grow Yourself.

Is your team not performing optimally? Do you struggle to keep your organization aligned? Are interactions with Product, Sales, and other teams conflicted? Do you want more influence?

If any of this is going on, then chances are it's not just one thing. It's important to look at the entire system.

One of the first places to look is inside yourself. Understanding how your internal belief system affects the team is crucial to successfully navigate the challenges that arise.

You also need to see others in the system as resources and approach them with curiosity, to understand how they see things.

Skills and tools can then be utilized to lead the team in aligning objectives, exploring perspectives, and determining the best path forward.

My name is Josh Forman. I've been managing engineering teams for 15 years and coaching others for over 5 years.

I will work with you to increase awareness of what is going on for you, as well as what is going on for others. Awareness of what is happening within and among is the first step in finding solutions to the most complex problems.

Combining best practice methods and models, I created the Pillars of Team Success Framework. We will use this as a map as I guide you through experiments to determine what structures, policies, and metrics work for you and your organization. I invite you to click the button below to schedule an evaluation to learn more.

Since every situation is unique, I start with questions meant to reveal new perspectives about your particular circumstances.

You bring the knowledge and experience of your system. I'll bring 20 years of direct management experience, training in humanistic psychology, brain science research, mindfulness, and an active ear. Together, we co-create a powerful space of reflection and insight to reveal potential solutions and new paths forward.

Adam, CTO & Co-Founder

I am a better leader now. I was confused and frustrated. Josh gave me space to surface and confront the self-defeating behaviors I didn't know were there. His gentle yet structured approach allows me to make habitual leadership improvements. My team has noticed.

Working with Josh, I gained skills to help me through new and unique managerial challenges - first as a new manager, then as Founder & CTO of my own VC-funded company.

I wrote my first code as a curious kid on an Apple II Plus in the early 80's. In 1994, I started my career as an engineer. Curiosity about how people work steered me into engineering management over 15 years ago. I have been a leadership coach for the past five years. I have a bachelors in Physics, a Masters in Organizational Leadership, and over 20 years of study in humanistic psychology, based primarily on the work of Virginia Satir, a pioneer in human systems thinking. I have attended and facilitated over 400 days of personal growth, career development, and leadership trainings around the world. In my career I have held multiple leadership roles in technology startups. I am an Agile Leadership Journey Guide and have trained extensively with Crafted Leadership. I am excited to share the tools of discovery that I have used to help others, and myself.

It's better to talk to someone who gets the engineering mindset.
